STATEMENT ISSUED BY JUST TO TELEGRAPH AND ARGUS

The Telegraph and Argus reported on 10 December 2014 that JUST West Yorkshire is involved in a partnership event on Child Sexual Exploitation at the Bradford University on the 18 December 2015 with Mothers Against CSE. The report can be read here

JUST’s Director issued the following statement to Telegraph and Argus:

‘I am deeply disappointed that JUST has been presented as a co-partner in the event. We have not given approval for our name or logo to be used. Ms. Ali Khan approached me to Chair the event and I had asked for further information prior to agreeing to be interviewed by the T& A.

I have no prior knowledge of the organisation that Ms. Ali Khan says she represents. It is JUST’s organisational policy to have a close overview of any partnership initiative and to issue any press statements with our Board’s agreement. We were not involved in the organisation of this event or the press release. I would be grateful if you could put the record straight as a matter of urgency’.

Our Director has also written to Ms. Ali Khan asking her to remove any references to JUST in the programme publicity with immediate effect.
