This pub was suggested by a friend. While on a visit to primrose valley. Got to say. Amazing food, proper home made and good quality. Lovely staff, kind and friendly. A warm welcoming place to come for a relaxing family meal. If your near by would suggest this pub as your first call for lunch.
we are staying in Primrose valley, we went to the Royaloak for Sunday lunch today... It was one of the best wev'e had. All the staff were attentive, all spoke you you, with a smile aswell. food was lovely definatley worth a visit.
I had been informed by a friend at work (Allo) about the amazing steak pie they served here... But we came on a Sunday and they only do Carvery on a Sunday. I wasn't disappointed though it was an absolutely great home cooked Carvery with a choice of turkey, gammon and melt in the mouth beef. Massive yorkies crispy roasties and extra cheesy cauliflower mmmmm. Plus you can grab a gravy boat for extra meaty gravy. I would recommend this restaurant anytime and definitely will be back to sample their pie(which should be stupendous if the carvery is anything to go by) ps my wife said the loos where clean as a whistle, something she always goes by.
The Royal Oak Pub We had a lovely meal at the Royal Oak that really hit the spot. The Angus burger was cooked perfectly — juicy, flavourful, and satisfying. The homemade chips were a standout: crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and clearly made with care. Even the coleslaw was fresh and tasty, adding a nice crunch to the plate. Portion sizes were generous without being over the top, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity. It’s the kind of place where you feel you’ve got real value for money. Friendly atmosphere, good food, and no fuss — just a solid, enjoyable pub meal. Would happily return next time we’re in Filey.
My partner, son and myself had lovely meal at Royal Oak Pub. We had the kids chicken nuggets with chips, fish and chips and the steak and ale pie. All was very tasty and staff where friendly. There is a large and very good soft play upstairs for a fee of £3 and you can actually have the food upstairs if you want. There is also a small outdoor play area. Plenty of parking to the rear and some at the front of the pub. We would visit again if in the area.
