Rhubarb Restaurant Harrogate

Ticks all the boxes! A quick skim of recent reviews put Rhubarb on my 'want to go' list. We went and we were not disappointed! Located in the heart of the lovely town of Harrogate, Rhubarb ticked all the boxes for us. Great ambiance, interesting menu, well prepared and presented food, lovely service. Really enjoyed the meal and the evening. Look forward to coming back.

Outstanding dining experience from start to finish with a very experienced mixologist making some fantastic cocktails at the end of the evening. Unfortunately the cocktails were so amazing I cannot remember his name but I do remember him looking very dapper in his own handcrafted waistcoat. The starters were amazing but the Cod au Vin was over seasoned, the desserts were also very special, we will definitely return when in the area again

My wife, last friday, booked a table to celebrate my birthday in this restaurant that I didn't know and we haven't tried yet in Harrogate. The restaurant is really nice and the atmosphere was amazing. The staff, since we entered has been really professional but at the same time really welcoming and kind during all the service. The food is just amazing, we went for the tasting menú, and I can tell that, behind every single dish, there is a lot of research and passion that comes to the customer. We really enjoyed every single dish and the service in between was just amazing and punctual. They accommodated without hesitation the dietary requirements of my wife bringing some alternatives which were just awesome. On that day there was a new really young waiter on the floor, and I could see she was really interested in learning from her colleagues so I wish her all the best and hope she will enjoy working with the team as the atmosphere on the floor is really nice and it's difficult finding a restaurant in Harrogate where the team is so close to achieve great results. We will definitely come back with our friends soon... I know that the prices might look a bit out of the budget for a lot of people and of course even for us is something that we can't afford to pay every week but I can reassure the people that every single penny is worthy if you are passionate in tasting great food in a great location. What I said comes from my personal experience as a ex worker in the hospitality in Harrogate. As a foreigner coming from Italy, passionated in preparing great food, of course my first job in the UK, in Harrogate, has been in a restaurant and this is why I'm sure that the chef and all his staff will reach amazing awards!!!

We came to rhubarb for our wedding anniversary and the whole evening was spectacular. The wonderful charismatic barman greeted us and made us feel really welcome. We had some relaxed exchanges with him and honestly I could’ve talked to him all night. Our wait staff were so friendly and attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. Little touches such as handwritten message of congratulations on our special occasion on the table really made the night feel special. But oh my word the food….we have done many tasting menus up and down the country and this one sits up there with the best. Innovative,exciting,aesthetically pleasing and delightful. Stand out for me was the venison and the artichoke (I don’t even like artichoke and was not looking forward to that course but it blew my mind) The food was simply exquisite and I wanted to kiss the chef for the gift of such imaginative tastes. We will 100% return and I highly recommend anyone looking for class and taste to visit rhubarb. Loved it

We celebrated our wedding at Rhubarb and everything was phenomenal! From the moment we enquired to the event itself, Varun and the team catered to everything we wanted and made it such a special celebration. As two brides, and with multiple disabled and neurodivergent guests, we all felt incredibly safe, welcomed, and celebrated throughout the whole planning process and the day itself. We booked out the whole venue for private dining, and Varun and the team offered us a bespoke and unique experience. We started with a champagne and Cavier reception, along with a selection of canopies - our guests were wowed by the high quality service and food. The lobster aranchini in particular was amazing! We then had the 10 course tasting meal, with not only the option of a wine flight but also a bespoke cocktail and mocktail flight. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable as they walked us through each course and wine / cocktail selection. The service was perfect - the team checked in regularly and ensured everyone was having a great time. One waitress in particular even helped with questions for our Mrs & Mrs game! The barman was simply extraordinary and an absolute credit to the business. Our guests were requesting custom cocktails all evening, and even when dealing with merry (drunk!) guests, maintained his excellent level of service. And frankly the cocktails were the best we’ve ever had! My now wife and I requested Lemon Meringue Cocktail and a Blueberry Basil Margarita which he designed ahead of time(making his own biscuit syrup!)and executed perfectly. The day was everything we hoped for and more, and we’ll be back every anniversary! I highly highly recommend rhubarb for any private dining experience or event!
