Hawes Pizzas

Clearly the bad reviews are from people who have never had a takeaway before and are expecting gourmet food. We got a pizza and burger, both were just normal takeaway quality and were very tasty, I think the fact Hawes is in the middle of nowhere, just to get a takeaway is a bonus. Would eat there again again no problem.

It was like an old bingo hall, or dance hall. Most unusual. The front lady was very friendly. I'd notified her that I had read the dreadful reviews, and hoped that I wasn't the next to be disappointed. We ordered a 10 and 12 inch donner pizza, and walked the food back to the hotel room. Now you want to hear what I think of the food? Coming from Bradford, I have a lot of experience with fast food. The pizza was a nice texture, the crust was thin and tasty, the separation was amazing. But the topping was somewhat average. Lacking in real zing. It actually needed a bit more salt and tomato. But the pizza was perfectly acceptable. The garlic sauce was actually very nice. I'm going to give a three out of five. I would have given a 3.5. Nowt special, but did the job. Besides! You have no choice.

Was skeptical after seeing a few reviews. However being the only takeaway place in Hawes on a recent visit in our van we felt we had no choice. But glad we did go as it was excellent. We ordered 2 pizzas, cooked perfectly. Would order again

Not impressed. Tasteless pizza with undercooked base and a dry doner kebab served with a supposed salad consisting of just onions and red cabbage. After reading previous reviews I was hoping it would have improved. The only takeaway in the area should be so much better.

Not sure where to start really! We were visiting and decided after the pub to get to Hawes Pizza for some food.. We anticipated a nice kebab and a pizza or something along those lines. It was approx 20:30 we arrived and I ordered a kebab, to which we were told they don’t serve this after a certain time despite the doner meat still gyrating on the spit, so instead ordered 3 pizzas for us. The pizza was cooked in normal time, and was piping hot so naturally the walk back through Hawes into Gayle we were excited to eat a lovely hot pizza. Sat down, opened our boxes and all looked fine… it wasn’t until we bit into the pizzas that we realised there was no tomato sauce, like AT ALL. My wife’s pizza topping just slipped off leaving a doughy undercooked pizza base whilst ours tasted okay, it lacked the basic ingredients of a pizza. To say this is disappointing is an understatement. You’ve got prime property here in Hawes to actually make a good takeaway but instead you’ve just got a poor review and people that won’t visit again.
