Authentic Stories from Diners
My favorite pub in Hawes. Neck oil not badly priced. The place was busy with a good vibe about it.
Called in for a delicious bar meal. Friendly staff, good drinks selection, welcoming atmosphere and good value. I would eat here again
What a lovely welcoming pub over the New Year period. Didn’t eat here, but had plenty of drinks over various sessions and also spent most of the New Year’s Eve night here enjoying the atmosphere with a disco/karaoke. Beers spot on - various cask and guest beers. Thanks to the hard working staff.
Not a great experience at this pub. The outside of the pub looks lovely and a great location, once inside it's clear this place is in dire need of renovation. Staff were not very friendly and the 1 beer I had was also not great.
Popped in on a cold and wet Tuesday lunchtime for a quick drink and a bite to eat. Very much a traditional pub. Nice cosy fire in the corner was very welcome. Barman was very welcoming and was quick to apologise that they were not serving main dishes at lunchtime, only light bites and sandwiches. We ordered a couple of starters and a couple of sandwiches and the quality was very good. The ciabatta rolls were very fresh and light, lots of very nice ham and a positively huge portion of chips, which was a surprise as we hadn't noticed the sandwiches were served with chips. Everything was very obviously freshly cooked and tasted superb. Very nice pint of Theakston's, they obviously take a pride in keeping their beer well.
