Wow! And that was just the food. It is excellent. "Ow!" The hot gravy all over my leg and floor. (I'm really sorry about that) but I was kindly given some blue-roll to wipe myself down and provided with more gravy, this time in a receptacle with a handle. Also, I was not made to feel like an idiot. I'd been warned that the gravy pot was hot. The steak pie, mash, and peas filled me up for the day. The quality belies the expense. It is far better than one might expect.
I'm not sure if this is the right shop for my comment. I was served by two very young, friendly and courteous ladies. I went there this afternoon to buy a piece of brownie cake and returned a little later to thank them for the extremely tasty cake. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Super delicious. Ps: Please give feedback if this was the shop I visited. Kind regards, The tall man from Germany
Pulled pork sandwich was ok but nothing special. Upstairs seating area was very dirty. No clean tables even though there were no customers up there. Christmas tree lights were off, no music and it was cold. Mulled wine was ok.
I have visited this place many times over the last few year. I have eaten in, taken away and bought their frozen pies to cook at home. The quality and immense love put into the food has always remained consistent. The owner is lovely and you can tell he is just so passionate about what he does. There is a small seating area upstairs surrounded by some wonderful artwork. If you're ever near by, definitely drop in. It’s worth the wait if its busy (can't rush perfection) If its a quick pastry you're after, there is a bakers further up the road. This place is top notch and I can't wait to go back soon
We popped for a late lunch to Haworth and spotted this welcoming pie shop half way down Main Street. For £12 each we got pie mash and purse. I had chicken and mushroom my partner steak and ale. They were both delicious the portions generous and we cleared out plates. The lass who served was warm, welcoming and chatty. She advised which pies she had ready which prevented any disappointment. We sat upstairs and did not have a long wait. Absolutely delicious and such good value for money. Wishing we’d bought some eat at home pies now.
