Authentic Stories from Diners
I stayed for four nights in early November, and wished I lived in England so that I could return soon. The guest house itself is wonderful: each room is very unique and comfortable, and the view out onto the street is centuries old. Breakfasts taste great and it's easy to strike up a conversation with the other guests. I had several! The location couldn't be more ideal, because the Bronte Parsonage is just up the street, and the walk to Top Withens starts there. There's easy access to the frequent Bronte bus service that can take you to the train station and to other towns like Hebden Bridge, which I also recommend. I look forward to returning.
Had a gorgeous Christmas meal with a group of friends here. The setting is beautiful with fabulous decor in period style. I had a pear salad starter followed by the most delicious sea bass cooked to perfection in a lovely sauce. The staff were attentive and very welcoming. Overall one of the best places I’ve eaten.
Lovely warm and welcoming, family run guest house. 2nd time here and as always Leanne was the perfect host, nothing was too much. We had the Christmas menu for tea on the 2nd night, food was beautiful and presented well. Jan and the girls helped in the evening and was smiling and helpful, will definitely come back again. Aileen and Stu (jamesons) 😂
We had a two night stay in the Cherubs room. Was so lovely, the bed was comfy and the decor is eclectic and quirky. Just our cup of tea :-) fabulous location on Main Street and within walking distance of all of Haworth's famous areas. Great value for money too. A great base for exploring the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Would visit again
Where to begin. First of all i do not know who these people are who got 5 star service. Real people ??? Just lucky ??? But I digress. There was zero service at this facility. Zero. We arrived and rang the bell. A voice appeared and instructed us as to how to get into the building where our room key was laid out in the entryway. Up to the room we go. Again i do not know whoooo these reviewers are that had such large, wonderful rooms… our room was cramped and very worn in every aspect. The draperies were smack dab against the hot wall heater. There was barely enough room to walk around the bed. The bathroom, while spacious , was in poor condition. Not sure why, with such a large bathroom, the shower was so tiny and only had a free standing sink. The wood surround around the tub was peeling off. A set of towels was left on the bed and I have never seen thinner or smaller towels . Good thing we didn’t need more towels as since there were no employees to be found I don’t know how we would obtain them . The info in the room stated that if anything was needed all we had to do was call the numbers listed. No answer to the call. Again there was no one on the site. We saw one person briefly upon check out but she disappeared while we were loading our car and we just left our key on the chair she was last seen sitting in. Breakfast and wine and “nibbles” offered in the description?? No breakfast, no nibbles, no people on duty. Also a closet door in the “lobby” was perpetually left open to showcase clutter and God knows what .. hoarder stuff.. so lovely to look at . The one positive was the mattress was comfortable . So many missed opportunities to make it better. The owner's have an awesome location in a quaint town. They could make this an adorable with a little effort
