The Royal Oak Hotel

Lovely place to stay, Friendly staff, Room was fantastic. I went to stay one night then i canged my mind and stayed 2 nights. The best thing is walking distance to castle and to bird watchung center.

Louie behind the bar was exceptional. Carried our bag up to the room & took our order for food as the kitchen had stayed open especially for us. The room was spacious & lovely warm & cosy. Had everything we needed & more. Food was delicious & Louie gave us lots of local information to help us make the most of our stay. Would highly recommend.

Great food at excellent prices, arrived quickly too. Polite friendly and helpful staff. We were staying locally for a couple of nights and enjoyed our first dinner so much we went again the next evening.

Just went as I saw the ‘dogs allowed’ sign to see if they had a table available on the Friday night of the storm coming in. Was made to feel very welcomed, as was Maggie our Rottie. Lovely menu. I had the homemade soup, that was delicious. Graeme had the brie, which looked great. Graeme followed that with the ribs and I had a small Lasagne, which after the soup was enough. Service was excellent and all the food was delicious and came out hot! Stayed for extra drink as got talking to some lovely people from Lincoln. Good night.

We were very fortunate to get a table as it was the start of a busy bank holiday but the staff rearranged things to get a table for my wife, granddaughter and myself. My wife is gluten free and thankfully the menu had options. When the food came we were all astounded with both the quality and quantity. Eating out these days seems a very expensive event but this was excellent food at a very reasonable cost. The staff were brilliant in ensuring our time there was a very enjoyable experience and definitely a place to return to when we are next in the area.
