Amazing tea, lovely staff and atmosphere. We ordered the tea special which is a tea and scone with cream and jam, it was absolutely delicious.
Its a very cute and adorable tea room. Their tea and scones cured my depression. Very kind and gentle staff. Top customer service
My friends and I had a delicious lunch today at The Ugly Duckling. The staff were so warm and friendly. Also the menu was really easy to navigate and select with my food allergies. I chose the soup of the day, which was Leek & Potato, and I had it with a sausage sandwich. The coffee was exceptional too! The meal was very reasonably priced. Which was a relief as I ordered a bloody lot and we sat there for ages. The village itself is beautiful and the views are remarkable. Would highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back the next time we pass through :)
Stopped in for afternoon tea while sheltering from Knaresborough’s rather temperamental winter weather — and what a lovely surprise this place turned out to be. This cosy tearoom serves a proper Yorkshire cream tea, with the option of either plain or fruit scones. I chose the plain scone and genuinely think it was really good: a beautifully crisp exterior with a soft, buttery centre. Paired with generous clotted cream and perfectly balanced jam — not too sweet, not too tart — it was simply delightful. At just £6, it felt like an absolute steal. The tea itself was spot on and complemented everything wonderfully. The ambience was cosy with bay windows letting in lots of natural light, quilted seating and warm heating. On a cold, rainy winter afternoon, it felt like the perfect refuge. Also worth mentioning: the bathroom is very clean and there’s a proper wooden baby changing station, which is great for families. A charming spot. Highly recommended if you’re in Knaresborough and in need of warmth, comfort and something delicious.
We stopped by less than an hour before closing and asked the staff if it would be possible to get some drinks and cakes or snacks as we were mindful of closing time but it wasn't a problem for them. As the weather was nice we sat outside- there are some picknic tables with benches. There are plenty of tables inside in case if the weather is temperimental. We ordered iced mocha with coconut milk, mocha, scallywag and sticky toffee pudding. The food was served promptly. The staff make sure about the milk in the iced coffee. The scallywag was served warmed up which was very nice. And sticky toffee pudding was absolutely lovely! We shared our treats with a gang of greedy wasps who happily were bathing in warm toffee. The place offers cold and hot drinks, snacks, lunch meals, ice cream, cakes and more. They also offer afternoon tea. The staff was very helpful, friendly and welcoming. We really liked the good quality coffee and desserts. Definitely worth a stop if you're nearby. The tables outside are located on the back of car park and spaces for coaches so it may be a bit noisy.
