Pizza on the Square

Great pizza and hot honey dizzled chips, with views across the market square.

Friendly helpful staff. Gluten free menu also available. Good size portions. Easy to get a table. But for food we picked and how many people in at time we were there, was a 20 minutes wait, but well worth it.

The pizzas are nice when they finally arrive but a 45 minute wait for two pizzas is too much, especially when there were lots of empty tables so it wasn’t busy. All the other tables were waiting too, so it wasn’t just us. We were also a bit surprised that everything is served on paper plates. I’m all in favour of compostable plates, but not if they stick to your food. I don’t expect to peel paper off my pizza before I can eat it. On the plus side, it’s dog friendly and was very quiet so we got a table easily.

The pizzas are very nice here! The dough was soft and pillowy and the added truffle garlic was delicious. The truffle Parmesan fries were scrumptious too!!

We stopped here for lunch while our car was changing. What a great location! And the building itself is really nice too. I'm not sure what it used to be, maybe a council building? Lots of character! They had plenty of tables available and more seating upstairs, also the menu looked great, who doesn't like pizza! Plus VEGAN cheese options!! It's order at the bar, and they have a large variety of drinks on offer. We unfortunately got charged extra for our meals but that was sorted out because of miscommunication from the staff. The food was about 20mins wait which wasn't too bad. Nice fresh ingredients, the sauce on the pizza was excellent too. The chips were really hot and crispy too. I would recommend this place if you're in and around Malton.
