Shoulder of Mutton Inn

Wow what a lovely place to drink and eat we will be back. Very helpful staff and we were made welcome from booking on the phone. On the night the staff made us feel welcome and the food was brilliant. There was 7 of us and everyone really enjoyed there meals

An absolute gem of a pub. Full of character and charm. The staff are great to and were very accommodating for our baby girl. Food was all fresh and home cooked and the cask ale was perfectly served. The sausage and mash, oh maaagawd. Avoid the services and get a home cooked meal here!

Walked to this pub from the Scotch Corner hotel in around 15 minutes. Well worth the walk. There was a choice of a couple of real ales and a decent menu. I opted for the legendary steak pie and was not disappointed. It took 25 minutes to arrive which was a good sign(not something thrown in the microwave). OMG it was the best pie this side of the Pennines. Definitely recommend.

We turned up after a long journey not long before they closed the kitchen, but they very kindly made us some delicious fish and chips and really tasty desserts. This pub is very welcoming and the food excellent. Thank you for accommodating us late!

A real gem of a place to stumble upon. Really spacious bar and restaurant, keeps its traditional feel but clean and well cared for. The bar is well stocked and well tended. The service was great and the food was absolutely smashing After a long day of driving this is exactly what we needed. It is just a very short distance off the corner between the A1M and the A66 and is perfectly situated for a decent meal. We were so delighted. I had the scotch egg which was lovely and we both had the Beef and Ale pie which was amazing. Home cooked and every bit about it was perfect. Well cooked and tender meat, lovely pastry, good veg accompaniments and the chips were some of the best I've had. This place is definitely worth a visit and we hopefully will come back some day!!
