Beautiful place in general and the staff were very friendly however the food in the restaurant was not good. The cote de boeuf was extremely fatty and poor quality considering its £96. The salad that it arrived with was disappointing just a few leaves and lack of seasoning. The halibut and linguine dish was tasteless. The halibut was cooked well however it did not go with the cream linguine sauce.
The location is beautiful and so close to the A1 it would be a perfect lunch stop. The Coach House is a lovely space very calming and service is excellent. The food is absolutely delicious perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The fish and meat are clearly very well sourced. My cod kedgeree was particularly brilliant. I’ll definitely be back to try The Forge next time.
This was a lovely experience. We went there for lunch. The food was excellent and they were able to offer me gluten-free versions. Drinks including the cocktails were superb. Friendly staff and excellent service from start to finish. Actually reasonably priced too. Highly recommended. Thank you.
We have visited twice, now. Once outside under the canvas canopy, with twinkling lights, blankets and heaters, and most recently in the beautiful restaurant. Each time the food was superb. It was inventive, tasty, beautifully presented, and all served with friendly efficient service. It’s not cheap, but perfect for a special occasion. We will definitely return. The whole estate and gardens are immaculate too. We spent roughly £40 a head for three people, including a starter, main course and drinks. We first discovered Middleton Lodge after having Sunday lunch highly recommended. We have yet to try that!
Had a nice meal here on a Monday night, quiet and quick service. The menu has a couple of vegan options and they are happy to make alterations for you. Would be nice for a few more clearer vegan items however everything was really well prepared, flavours great and presented well. Nothing was too overly priced and the have a great drinks selection.
