Lanterna Restaurant

Celebrated a birthday with family here following a friend's recommendation. Everything was as good as suggested. The food was delicious, the family owners serving us just lovely and friendly and because there's not too many tables crammed into a small space as in some restaurants, the atmosphere was perfect, which made for a special night. I look forward to going back again.

Giorgio & Rachel (now with Zac added to the team) create a spectacular dining experience recognised far and wide. The walls are plastered with autographed photos and messages from the great and good, and yet mere mortals (me) can dine here too (if you book). It is unfair to list my favourites. The whole menu is deserving of five stars, the wine is curated to suit and the specials lift the whole evening, if that’s what floats your (locally caught fish) boat. Who says Scarborough has the best restaurant in the UK? ME!

Great little family run Italian, old school but with great food. Great flavours, we enjoyed hare with pasta as a starter, wolf (fish) as a main, and zabaglione made at the table as a dessert. Wines wide ranging and prices from modest to high. Recommended.

Great authentic food, the best place to eat in the area by far! Plenty of good wines available. The staff are lovely too.

First time here tonight and have no idea why we waited so long to go. Lovely welcome from friendly people, drinks and aperitifs were on the table very quickly, the staff were very attentive and happy to help. The food was sublime, freshly cooked and well presented. I had monk fish in a lemon and pink peppercorn sauce, fillet steak strips in a gorgonzola sauce with red and yellow peppers with fresh seasonal veg and chips followed by the meringue with ice cream and cream. OMG i have not had such a good meal in a quite some time and we will be back sooner rather than later to try the rest of the menu. Great atmosphere too.
