Authentic Stories from Diners
Went for a Lovely Sunday dinner in a nice location in the centre of York. Staff were nice and attentive and helpful..It wasn't overly busy which made for a great atmosphere. Happy hour deals too!
I attended the stonegate yard restaurant with my family on 6/2/26. The atmosphere was very welcoming! We ordered our drinks and food and they both came very swiftly. My son and daughter had the steak which i also tried (dad tax!) And I can honestly say it was cooked so well that it rivals any steak from Miller and carter. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Fantastic food , service and atmosphere this is a great public house and restaurant for all occasions. Upstairs has a lovely warm seating area with a feel of ambiance. Has other areas to relax and eat or sit outside in a covered heated area. The food I had the French connection burger with two local butchers burgers and topped with a onion chutney and cheese. We also had the tuna sandwich with chips. A hidden gem in York and just a stone throw away from the minster and I review this place as 5/5
Popped in for a family meal on our son’s 16th and GCSE results day. The service and food were absolutely fantastic. Huge portions for the prices, definitely worth every penny.
Great restaurant serving up pub classics and a variety of other dishes from curries to BBQ chicken. We dinned here two nights in a row as we loved the variety of food on the menu and everything was consistently superb. The interior is much larger than expected, with plenty of seating. This would be a great spot for a date night or a dinner out with friends. Highly recommend the steak and ale pie, the portion is large and very tasty. The half chicken was another favorite as it had great sides, just found the chicken portion was quite small. If you’re in York, this restaurant is conveniently located in the heart of the city and worth the visit!
